It’s usually very sweet and high in carbs. So, to make it keto-friendly, we have to apply some changes to the ingredients.
However, the taste will always remain the same if not better.
They are high in fats and protein. This explains the boost of energy that you will experience once you eat it on breakfast.
How To Make Keto Pancakes?
The process of preparing keto pancakes is so simple. You just need five ingredients.
Well, even though some people are able to make pancakes with just eggs and cream cheese, we don’t recommend that.
In fact, the common pancake problem is when they can’t hold themselves. They become fluffy and eggy.
If you like it that way it’s your choice. But if you don’t you can add a low-carb flour. In this case, we will use almond flour.
Adding almond flour will make your pancake look more like a thin cake once it’s ready.
And don’t forget to add a powdered sugar-free sweetener if you don’t want to lose that sweet taste of pancakes. Here, we will use powdered erythritol.
How To Perfect The Recipe?
Every ingredient in this recipe has a unique role to give us a perfect keto pancake, even though it can be done with just eggs and cream cheese.
We stress about the importance of the almond flour because it is necessary to make it less fluffy.
That’s why you should follow the ingredients carefully.
However, if you put ore almond flour than needed it can become very thick and heavy.
To avoid this, make sure you mix the flour effectively with the other ingredients. Preferably, use an electronic blender.
Toppings For The Pancakes
It’s not mandatory to top you pancakes, but some toppings can make it look and taste 10 times more delicious.
Unfortunately, one of the most used ingredients is honey which is not keto-friendly. However, there still some low-carb toppings that you can use here.
Low-carb siroups like agave syroup are a great to put it on your pancakes.
You don’t have to use only siroups, you can be creative with your toppings.
For example, you can use Butter, nuts, berries, whipped cream… Or maybe you will want some maple butter.
It’s up to you. The sky is the limit.
Low-Carb Keto Pancake Recipe
- 3.5 Oz Cream Cheese Softened
- 3/4 Cup Almond Flour
- 4 Eggs Large
- 2 tbsp Sugar Free Sweetener Erithrytol
- 1/2 Cup Almond Milk Unsweetened
- Put Cream cheese, eggs, and almond milk in the blender
- Add almond flour, sweetener, and vanilla extract. Then blend until it becomes smooth.
- Heat a nonstick skillet on medium-low heat. Melt some grass fed butter and pour 2-3 tablespoons of batter on the skillet, flip when it becomes bubbly and transfer to a plate when you get two gloden sides. Do the same with the remaining batter
- Add your toppings and serve immediately (You can freeze the rest for later use)
