About me

Welcome y’all! I’m Ben, an originally African guy with unfortunate genetics and a “TOUGH LUCK”, being able to achieve the shape of my dreams. Most days, you’ll find me in the gym lying on the bench, sweating on my last rep but able to draw a big smile on my face …

To break it down, a successful keto diet requires self discipline and that can be easier when you prepare your own meals.

In other words, you know exactly what you’re putting in your body. On this diet specifically, it has to be less than 20 grams of carbs and more than 80% fats daily.

Unless you will hire a chef, preparing your meals can take so much time. For this, you have to cook ahead of time and skillets are the best way to do that.

How To Meal Prep On Keto?

When I started the keto diet, I was fascinated by the number of recipes out there.

I was more amazed by how tasty the food was to the point that I spent so much time everyday cooking.

Little did I know that so much of that time was wasted that I could’ve used more productively. And that’s when I started cooking skillets.

Now, I dedicate one hour or less every Sunday to prepare a skillet for the whole week as lunch or dinner.

For the rest, I prepare the ingredients and I cook the whole meal the night before because, you know, I still like fresh food.

What Is Keto Taco Breakfast Skillet?

If you’re familiar with skillets recipes you may already know how delicious they are.

The vast majority contain eggs and cheese. Well, this skillet is no different.

Also, all of its ingredients are low-carb which makes them a great fit for the keto diet. It tastes no different than the usual skillet or even better.

Other than that, taco breakfast skillet requires less time to prepare and relatively more time to cook.

Is This Meal Keto-Friendly?

One serving of taco breakfast skillet provides 9g of carbs of which 4g are fibers. So, it’s 5g of net carbs. So, it’s very low for such a big meal.

Other than that, fats are also high (44g per serving) which makes this meal great for the keto diet.

The other thing that I can say is that you can eat this skillet on breakfast, lunch, or even dinner and you can easily achieve your daily goals on the keto diet.

How To Prepare Taco Breakfast Skillet?

If there is one reason to explain why I love this recipe it’s because it combines a low-cost with healthy ingredients and ease of preparation.

For starters, prepare your taco seasoning then add it to the skillet with some water and cooked beef. Let simmer until sauce has thickened.

Then mix the rest of the ingredients including eggs in a large bowl and add it to the sauce. Finally, put it all in the oven for about 30 minutes.

In the end, once your skillet is ready, you can top it with cheese and beef.

How To Store Taco Breakfast Skillet?

The skillet tastes the best when it’s fresh but to save time we have to prepare it in advance.

You can store the meals in the refrigerator but not all of them. In fact, I prefer to store in the fridge the meals for the next two days and the rest I keep in the freezer.

Also, I usually throw the skillet in the oven again before eating or microwave it on low heat.
